Hi!

I'm John, a former academic scientist who left the bench professionally in search of greener pastures. Research-wise my background spans several projects, ranging from testing new antibiotics, looking at how brain-eating fungi get into the brain and how they eat brains, and how the microbes in the gut can protect people from infections in hospitals. Skills-wise, I've done plenty of coding, biochemistry, chemistry, genetics, and cell biology.

I don't have a project just quite yet - I'm more interested in seeing what's already here, and helping out where I can. Looking forward to geeking out with you all!
