Hello! I am a microbiologist who loves things that glow. I want to build upon a fluorescence-based agar art workshop I developed for a music festival last year. I would like to bring it to more festivals, schools, and other events this year.

I have a B.S. in Microbiology from UCSB and for the last 2.5 years I have been working at a bio-materials startup where we engineer strains to produce industrial monomers in large-scale fermentation. I have extensive experience in micro/molecular bio bench work, as well as fermentation optimization and scale-up, and I am happy to contribute to any other CC projects and events.

I am interested in learning more molecular biology design skills. In my current position I carry out most of the DNA assembly wetlab work, but the majority of plasmid and oligomer design is done by my supervisor. I have some experience with designing CRISPR/Cas9 guides and donors, but I am lacking some staples of the molecular biology toolkit and want to change that.
